A solarisation project will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee inside the Rashtrapati Bhawan complex on February 10th. As per information available, 670 kW of solar power is expected to be generated through solar panels installed on the rooftops of seven buildings in the Rashtrapati Bhawan compound.
What is noteworthy about this solarisation project is that savings in electricity bills is expected to be more than Rs. 80 Lakhs per year.
A day long exhibition is also planned as part of the inaugural event which will highlight the various aspects of energy conservation and green energy. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), Rural Electrification Corporation, Green Jobs Sector Skill Council, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Central Electronics Limited and Energy Efficiency Services Limited will be lending their supports to the inaugural exxibition.
Additionally, as part of the inaugural event, painting and science model competitions as well as a Nukkad Natak on the theme of energy efficiency/solar power will be organized.
Students will also have something to look forward to as the organizers are planning to conduct quizzes and games competition related to green energy.
TPDDL will also launch a life-skill training course for girl students of classes 11 and 12 of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya by TPDDL during the inaugural event.
